The VABT assists Victorian artists and crew experiencing ill health or a medical crisis with emergency financial assistance.

The following organisations and resources may offer additional assistance beyond the scope of the VABT.

The VABT is not a medical institution and is therefore unable to provide direct guidance on mental or physical health concerns or provide referrals or recommendations on individual treatment. Instead, the VABT provides these resources to enable and facilitate  professional assistance being sought.

Through our membership in the Australasian Alliance of Performing Arts Benevolent Funds, the VABT is providing tailored support to performers, creatives and crew based in Tasmania. Currently, assistance for Tasmanian-based performing arts workers is available through the VABT’s COVID-19 Assistance Fund.

A mental health care plan is provided by a GP and provides access to Medicare rebates for selected allied mental health services, helping to alleviate the financial burden and make seeking assistance more accessible. If you have a mental health care plan, you will be entitled to Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual and 10 group appointments with selected psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers within one year.
